Question about bitaxe temps

Everyone on here always says "check your temps" but exactly what temps should I be checking for? Like what temp is considered too high for a bitaxe that I should be concerned?

I’ve read the ASIC chip performs best between 55-65 degrees and the VR temps are safe between 75-85 degrees. Lower temps are better obvi, so I keep my miners in the coolest room in the house.

The ASIC chips are not unsafe until you reach 90C, but thermal throttling (shutdown) kicks in around 75C so there's really no danger of overheating, just being shut down. The voltage regulators in bitaxe are rated up to 120C. Be sure to keep your miners a fair distance away from any heat producing appliances and keep a good bit of spacing between units if you have more than one.

@tech-guru2025 Wow so I could theoretically run these as high as 74C and it would be fine? That just seems so high!

@charlenebenning Yes, you could, but keep in mind that's talking about safety, not performance. You still want to aim for lower temps because cooler ASIC temperatures lead to higher and more stable hashrates, and can even impact the lifespan of the miner.
